Activation Alert: Henley’s Fort, Guildford

Planned Activation

On Wednesday 9th October 2012, I intend to be active from Henley's Fort, Guildford between 0700z-0900z.

This location is valid for the following references:

  • CASHOTA: G-499
  • Worked All Britain: SU94
  • World Flora Fauna: GFF-273 (Surrey Hills AoNB)

I am trying to determine the exact location of the Hogs Back ROC Bunker – if possible I will include this in the activation.

About Henley's Fort

Originally built in the 1880s as one of the London Defence Positions to defend the capital against invasion by the French. Later, it was used during the Second World War as head quarters for the Surrey Home Guard.

The site is now home to the Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development Centre (SOLD)

One Response to Activation Alert: Henley’s Fort, Guildford

What I didn’t factor in, was that it is now a “commercial” site… so access is not possible – without permission.

I’ll investigate how to get permission. Please QRX.
